In response to this, we’ve given our key range of essentials an extensive re-launch, with new additions to our ranges and a fresh and consistent new look for our pack designs.

Chilled & Frozen Garlic Bread
We have redesigned our garlic baguettes into the new Italian sub brand to complement the pasta and pasta sauces that launched in 2009 and the Italian ready meals that launched earlier this year.
The range of chilled garlic bread includes:

• 9 garlic bread slices – new to own brand.
• Healthy Selection single garlic bread – 35% less fat than the standard Budgens baguette but just as tasty!

The frozen twin pack garlic baguettes have been given a fresh new look and should be easier to find as they too follow the Italian theme of the green packaging.

Chips & Frozen Roast Potatoes
Our new range of chips and roast potatoes are now available to buy in store. They are a great freezer essential and would make the ideal accompaniment to any meal or as the perfect snack!
Our range has all the favourites and even includes a tasty good value chip. Try, one of the following:

• Roast Potatoes 1kg

All these products are made with Sunflower oil. Sunflower oil is valued for its light taste, frying performance and health benefits as it supplies more Vitamin E than any other vegetable oil and contains very little saturated fat.

American Style Cola/ Diet Cola
It’s not just a new look for our cola, the recipe has also been reformulated to give it a classic American style taste.  Full of flavour and available in convenient 500ml bottles - perfect if you are on the move, or 2 litre bottles to take home.  Add some sparkle to your day

Spirits
The Budgens Gin, Vodka and Whisky range are a perfect addition to the wide range of mixers you might have picked up from your Budgens store. These own brand products rate high on taste and quality, and their stylish new design labels make them stand out in a crowd.
Imperial Vodka
This is an exceptionally pure vodka which has been distilled multiple times for an authentic taste. Great as a base for cocktails, with a mixer or straight over ice.
Special Dry London Gin
The London Dry style was originally developed in the 19th century and is recognised as the perfect base for mixing drinks. Juniper, angelica, coriander and citrus flavour this white spirit.
Scotch Whisky
Scotch is the only drink named after its country of origin, which guarantees the authenticity of true Scotch whisky. This Scotch has been made by traditional methods, distilled from water and malted barley, matured in oak casks for a minimum of 3 years and skillfully blended for taste.

Our own brand bakery and cake packaging has arrived with a new vibrant look and feel.

Stir Fry, Noodles & Beansprouts
Looking for a quick and easy mid-week supper? A stir fry is as quick as it gets! 
With Budgens Stir Fry Range, all the preparation has been done for you; these products are all ready to cook, and in just 5 minutes you will have a fresh, crisp and crunchy meal.
The own brand range has something for everyone.  Delicious Mushroom, Vegetable, or Mixed Pepper pre-prepared stir fry dishes, all suitable for vegetarians, and a Chinese Stir Fry dish which has a tantalising oyster sauce.  The Mixed Pepper Stir Fry is a larger pack size, perfect if you are entertaining, or cooking a large family meal.
The range is completed with a choice of authentic accompaniments, Egg or Rice Noodles and Beansprouts, all in handy 300g packs. It couldn’t be easier to put a mouthwatering treat on the table.

Yogurts
We have added 4 new, exciting flavours to the Budgens Low Fat Yogurt range.
The ‘very fruity’ range consists of 3 flavours – Cherry, Strawberry and Peach and each is packed with sweet, juicy pieces of fruit. The fourth one is Hazelnut, a ‘very nutty’ and delicious flavour that’s guaranteed to go down a treat with most people.
These low fat yogurts are currently price marked ‘Any 3 for £1.25’.

Ice Cream
Our 1 litre ice cream range consists of 5 soft scoops, 1 Cornish and 4 rather indulgent ice creams.
We have new improved recipes, and all our products are now made in the West Country from real dairy cream. The result is a creamier product with a richer flavour.
Our soft scoop dairy range is a market leader, as most other soft scoop ice creams are still made with vegetable oil. The packaging design for soft scoop and Cornish is nostalgic and aims to evoke memories of being on the beach and holidays past.
Our more indulgent ice creams include delicious ingredients like Devon Toffee Sauce, Senga Strawberry Sauce, Belgian Dark Chocolate Chip and Madagascan Vanilla. They do not contain any artificial flavours or colours and are made with West Country milk and cream, and free range eggs. The packaging shows the product in a natural way, having just been scooped out of the tub.

Scourers & Cloths
Check out our re-designed range of squeaky clean, household must-haves - Sponge Scourers, Non-Scratch Sponge Scourers, Scouring Pads and Multi-Purpose Cloths.
These good looking products are practical too. They have transparent packaging so you can have a little peep before you buy, and they’re also quite fun, with 3 words on the packaging telling a little story.

Prepared Fruit
Classic, tropical and exotic bite sized chunks of various fruits, all prepared and ready to eat.  With an assortment of flavours and textures, they are a perfect sweet treat at any time, without the guilt!

Fabric Conditioner
We have re-designed our best selling dilutable 1 litre and 2 litre fabric conditioners, and introduced two new 750ml concentrated fabric conditioner lines into our laundry range.
The new concentrated variants are ‘Pure’ - which is dermatologically tested and cares for your skin as well as your clothes - and ‘Jasmine and Passionflower’ which gives a softening scent of just washed freshness.
The 750ml concentrated fabric conditioners give 21 washes* vs the 10 washes* from a 1 litre bottle. The bottles are smaller, which reduces the environmental impact of the packaging and saves room in your cupboards!

Water
Pure and refreshing mineral water from the Welsh mountains, sourced and bottled directly from the Montgomery Spring.  A mixture of pack sizes, with sports cap and flat cap bottles for your convenience

Prepared Vegetables
A varied selection of vegetables, trimmed, washed and ready to cook. A convenient and versatile addition to many meals.

Perfect accompaniments for a party, barbeque or crudités, and a tasty addition to many snacks.

Italian Range Pasta & Sauce
Our versatile range of pasta and sauces has been relaunched to give it that authentic Italian feel. Why not try a combination of our fresh sauces and pasta or, for that little something extra, choose one of our filled pastas with your favourite sauce. Buonissimo!

Succulent roast turkey withlemon, garlic and herbs

Serves 8-10
Preparation time 30 minutes
Cooking time 3½ – 4 hours
Ingredients
For the stuffing
1 Budgens onion, peeled and finely chopped
1 tbsp Budgens vegetable oil
50g sundried tomatoes, roughly chopped
1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
25g hazelnuts, roughly chopped
80g fresh white breadcrumbs
225g Budgens pork sausages, skin removed
1 Budgens medium free range egg, beaten
For the turkey
4.5-5kg turkey, oven-ready
2 lemons zested and 6 lemons halved
2 cloves of garlic and 6 halved garlic heads
25g pack each of Budgens fresh rosemary and thyme
200g salted butter For the gravy
1 tbsp Budgens flour
100ml white wine
600ml turkey or chicken stock (from cubes)
Method
1. Sweat the onion in the oil, until soft but not coloured. Remove from the heat and tip into a separate bowl with the sundried tomatoes, rosemary, hazelnuts and breadcrumbs and season
well. Add the sausage meat and enough beaten egg to bind together and roll the mixture into individual balls.
2. Pre-heat the oven to 200ºC non fan / 180ºC fan / gas mark 6. Wash the turkey and pat dry.
3. In a bowl, mix together the lemon zest, garlic, herbs and butter. Season well. Halve the zested lemons and place in the cavity of the turkey with the remaining herbs. Rub the herb butter over the top of the turkey and put in a large roasting tin. Cover loosely with foil and cook for 3-3½ hours until the juices run clear. Baste every 30 minutes. Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes to brown the bird and place the lemon and garlic halves around the turkey.

4. Remove the turkey and place on a serving platter
with the garlic and lemon. Cover loosely with foil and leave to rest for 30 minutes.
5. Put the stuffing into the oven for 15-20 minutes,
while the turkey is resting, or until cooked through.
6. To make the gravy, pour away excess fat and discard the onion. Put the tin over a medium heat and add the wine. Let the wine bubble for 2 minutes and then sprinkle the flour over. Stir for 3-4 minutes until thickened. Add the stock and bring to the boil. Simmer for 15 minutes.

 Creamy Christmas cupcakes

Makes 12 large cupcakes
Preparation time 20 minutes
Cooking time 20 minutes
Ingredients
200g soft butter
200g caster sugar
4 Budgens medium free range eggs
200g Budgens self-raising flour
2 tsp ground cinnamon
Zest of one Budgens orange
200g mixed fruit

For the brandy icing
200g cream cheese
100g soft slightly salted butter
600g sieved icing sugar
2 tbsp of Budgens brandy or 1 tbsp of vanilla essence

Fiddes Payne silver ball and white glimmer sugar, or Silver Spoon silver balls and Silver Spoon sprinkles
Muffin cases
Ingredients available at selected stores.

Method
1. Pre-heat the oven to 180ºC non fan / 160ºC fan /gas mark 4.
2. Place the butter and sugar in a large bowl and whisk until pale and fluffy.
3. Beat the eggs lightly in a separate bowl and slowly add to the mixture. If it starts to curdle, add tablespoon of flour.
4. Using a large spoon, stir in the flour, cinnamon and orange zest. Gently fold in the fruit and spoon the mixture halfway up the muffin cases.
5. Put into the oven and bake for 18-20 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and cool.
To make the brandy icing
1. Put the cream cheese, butter and icing sugar into a large bowl and whisk until light and fluffy. If the mixture is too runny, add more icing sugar.
2. Stir in the brandy or vanilla essence and spread
onto the cupcakes with a palette knife.
3. Decorate with sprinkles and silver balls.
